Thank you for joining us for coverage of the Assen GP. In typical wild Assen style, it did not fail to disappoint. Valentino Rossi ended a year long drought for a win and the championship is wide open, with Dovizioso, Vinales, Rossi and Marquez firmly in the hunt. Next stop, one of Marc Marquez's favourite track, the Sachsenring!

ASSEN RACE REPORT:
Assen MotoGP: Rossi beats Petrucci to win, Vinales crashes out
If it's any consolation to Petrucci's Pramac team-mate, Scott Redding set the fastest lap of the race today, with a 1m34.617s.
Petrucci had to make his way through back-markers in the final laps and complains about the lack of blue flags, "when it counts, no blue flags in the last lap."
Marquez on the world feed, "in the end if you said to me, after the race you would only be eleven points after the first guy in the championship, I would sign."
All the riders are finally in parc ferme, Rossi embraces his team and gives a little smile to defeated race rival Petrucci.
Valentino Rossi wheelies for the Assen crowd, who are all on their feet for the King of Assen.

Andrea Dovizioso now leads the world championship, four points to Maverick Vinales - who lost out after crashing today.
Miller ends up sixth, Abraham flies late on to get seventh ahead of Baz and Iannone.
Marquez finally wins the incredible third place battle by 0.042s over Crutchlow, with Dovizioso right behind.
Rossi wins the Dutch TT by 0.063s over Petrucci!
Rossi still half a second ahead of Petrucci into the final corners.
Crutchlow back into third, Dovizioso all over Marquez too.
Redding has crashed.
Marquez retakes third from Crutchlow.
Onto the last lap, Rossi handled a touch of traffic better and has a half-second lead over Petrucci.

Crutchlow takes third from Marquez!
Rossi dives down the inside of Petrucci into the chicane and reclaims the lead.
Dovizioso takes third back from Marquez, but they're now a full 1.8s off Petrucci and Rossi's lead battle.
It's still not wet-wet and Zarco is 5.6s off the pace on wet tyres. But the slicks are clearly cooling down.
Miller is now up to 6th, Baz to eighth. Rainmasters shining...
Petrucci isn't managing to get away from Rossi yet.
Four laps left as they cross the line, Dovizioso runs wide at the first corner and Marquez is back to third.
Now it's Petrucci's turn to try on Rossi - and he's into the lead with five laps left!
Dovizioso tries on Rossi for the lead, doesn't make it and falls behind Petrucci into third once again.

Zarco is lapping some five seconds off the pace on his wet bike.
Pedrosa has tumbled backwards in the damp too, he's 12th now.
Bautista crashes out - he's been in the battle for sixth that Crutchlow now leads.
Rossi's lead over Petrucci is up to 1.2s with nine laps left.
Dovizioso is setting some very strong times in fifth place - he's catching the lead pack.
Ten laps to go, Rossi has a lead of 0.9s over Petrucci, who is back under pressure from Marquez.

Vinales is inching forward - he's past Crutchlow for ninth.
Here's a novelty for 2017: A Suzuki going rapidly - Iannone just set fastest lap and now grabs seventh from former Ducati team-mate Dovizioso.
A replay from the final chicane shows Marquez very, very nearly losing it but somehow staying on his wheels. He's now within 0.283s of Zarc.

Lorenzo is past Pol Espargaro into 16th and closing on Lowes.
After that stunning qualifying performance, Sam Lowes's race isn't proving so hot - he's down from 10th on the grid to 15th.
