Vermeulen hopes to avoid more incidents

Chris Vermeulen has said that he is hoping to avoid another collision this weekend after he was hit by Randy de Puniet last time out at Assen

The Suzuki rider had started the race from pole position, but he was running seventh when he tangled with de Puniet, which dropped him to the back of the field.

The Australian admitted that he is getting frustrated by being caught up in incidents with other riders this season, as he looks to build on his solid run so far.

"I just hope that somebody else doesn't want to crash into me this week because three times this season is already more than enough," he said.

"I am still a bit annoyed about what happened in the race at Assen, but there is nothing I can do about that now."

The 25-year-old added that he is hoping for a dry weekend next time out at the Sachsenring, despite his impressive performances in the wet so far this year.

"I really want a dry weekend as we have a lot to do with the bike and it is always better to race in dry conditions than in the wet," he said.

Vermeulen's teammate John Hopkins has said that he often struggles with the German circuit, but he is expecting to have a better run this year.

"Sachsenring is a difficult circuit and one that I still have a bit of trouble coming to terms with," said Hopkins.

"We had some grip issues last year but with the way the Bridgestone tyres are working I don't think that will be a problem this year."
