The signs KTM has turned around the MotoGP bike Marquez can't understand

KTM has made its strongest start to a MotoGP season ever with two podiums – including a stunning win for Miguel Oliveira last weekend in Indonesia – in the first two rounds of 2022. It is a bike that remains difficult to understand but there are several notable signs which suggests KTM’s form looks genuine

After two rounds of the 2022 MotoGP World Championship, we are none the wiser as to how this season will shake out. The pre-season title favourites in Fabio Quartararo and Francesco Bagnaia – and Yamaha and Ducati by extension – have had wildly inconsistent starts to the campaign, while the expected Suzuki charge so far hasn’t materialised and Honda was struck by extremely bad luck in Indonesia.

So, when you look at all three championship standings, you’ll see leaders few would have considered on the Thursday evening in Qatar earlier this month as we all pondered how the 2022 title might be won.
