Silverstone MotoGP: Marc Marquez vows not to calm attacking style
Marc Marquez has vowed not to change his swashbuckling style despite the looming prospect of claiming what would be an historic first MotoGP crown in his rookie season
The Spaniard extended his points advantage to 26 over team-mate Dani Pedrosa, and 44 over Yamaha's defending champion Jorge Lorenzo, after sealing a fourth straight win last time out at Brno.
Despite that margin Marquez insists he will not try to calm his racing approach, insisting that he would still view his 2013 campaign as a success even if he were to be beaten to the title.
"My approach will be the same," he said when asked by AUTOSPORT. "I am happy with my season so I will try to continue like this.
"Maybe we will come to some tracks where I will struggle, or where weather will make it harder.
"But my goal this year was just to take some podiums and fight for some victories. I have done that.
"If some results come, [they are] welcome. If not, for me it will be OK - I don't have any pressure to win [the title] this year."
Despite failing to win at Silverstone in two years in Moto2, and despite the track traditionally playing to Yamaha's strengths, Marquez is hopeful he can confound expectations and be in the hunt for a fifth consecutive win.
"It's possible, yes, but we will see," he said of his victory hopes.
"It is quite difficult to be competitive for three race [weekends] in a row, all races at 100 per cent.
"Silverstone looks like a Yamaha track, but Brno was too and in the end we were able to win there.
"It will be hard, but I think we can do a good job."
