Misano MotoGP: Jorge Lorenzo anticipating another fight with Dani Pedrosa

Jorge Lorenzo says he is anticipating another titanic scrap with MotoGP championship rival Dani Pedrosa after missing out on pole by just 0.018 seconds despite two 'crazy' late efforts

The pair are separated by just 13 points following Pedrosa's 0.178s victory at Brno, which came after a race-long duel and thrilling last-lap battle.

Starved of meaningful running in any of the three practice sessions at Misano, they picked up where they left off in qualifying, trading top spot in the final minutes.

Though Pedrosa eventually claimed pole, Lorenzo said he was happy to be so close to his rival.

"I didn't get pole but I was very, very close, and everyone is waiting for the battle tomorrow," Lorenzo said.

"It was tough [early on] to stay at the pace to be honest, because of the [lack] of dry conditions, but we improved little by little, run by run.

"It was the same for everyone, we had little time to get the bike working. We have to improve in acceleration, [the] bike moved around a lot, [but] I made two crazy laps at the end, quite fast.

"It was quite close no? Now we wait for a hard and tough fight tomorrow, but at least we are ready for it."
