Marc Marquez expects stronger Honda in Aragon MotoGP race

Marc Marquez is confident Honda will benefit from improvements found in MotoGP testing at Misano as it bids to counter Jorge Lorenzo and Yamaha's recent resurgence

In addition to Lorenzo's back-to-back wins in the UK and Italy, Yamaha has been buoyed by the successful introduction of its seamless gearbox, which helped secure a commanding victory margin last time out at Misano.

Marquez, who still has a 34-point advantage over Lorenzo heading into the final five races, believes Honda will be in stronger shape at Aragon after finding improvements during official testing.

"After the race in Misano, we had a good test on the Monday and definitely found some positive settings," Marquez said.

"I'm looking forward to trying them out this weekend in Aragon.

"The track is one of my favourites, [with] technical first and final sections, and you need to be strong in cornering.

"We've had good results there in the past two years (Marquez won the 2011 Moto2 race and was second last year] so I hope to continue this way.

"We've also been testing there already this year on the MotoGP machine, so we have some data."

Team-mate Dani Pedrosa, who kicked off a run of three straight wins at Aragon last year, said he too was excited about Honda's testing progress.

"We had a test on Monday after Misano and found some positive things," he said.

"I hope [they] will help us here in Motorland, especially in corner exit."
