Lorenzo happy whatever the weather

Jorge Lorenzo says he is confident of a strong Japanese Grand Prix no matter what the weather brings tomorrow

After a dry Friday practice, the forecast rain arrived at Motegi today. The morning session took place on a damp track, before heavier precipitation forced the cancellation of qualifying.

Yamaha rider Lorenzo will therefore start on the outside of the front row having been third-fastest yesterday. He was fourth this morning and believes he is in good shape for either a wet or dry race.

"The times are from yesterday so I'm happy," he said. "I went fast during the practice in the dry and also in the practice in the wet. So for me, it's good.

"I'm feeling happy on the bike, and with the braking. The chassis feeling is good. So I have options for the wet and also for the dry."

The current forecast for race day is for further rain, but that it will be lighter than the downpour that hit qualifying.
