Dani Pedrosa rules out racing 2014 Honda bike for now
Dani Pedrosa does not intend to race the 2014 Honda MotoGP bike in the immediate future after testing with it for the first time at Aragon on Wednesday
Honda brought next year's RC213V to the test with the intention of giving it an early race debut if championship leader Pedrosa or his team-mate Marc Marquez wanted to race it.
Pedrosa only did nine laps on the bike on Wednesday, and decided it would not be right to rush it into race action.
"I did just two exits and a total of nine laps, basically to get the first impression and give to the engineers some feedback," he said.
"The bike is OK, but at the moment we need more time to understand it, so in the short term I will not use it."
Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo was fastest at the test, his 1m48.076s beating Marquez's 1m48.434s.
Pedrosa did a 1m48.928s in third place, a tenth ahead of Valentino Rossi's Yamaha.
Marquez will stay on to try the 2014 Honda on Thursday.
