MotoGP qualifying in Portugal has been postponed for at least half an hour due to the appalling weather conditions at Estoril.
Persistent heavy rain since the end of practice this morning has soaked the circuit again, with large amounts of standing water on the track.
125cc qualifying had already been put back three hours, but it was hoped that the rain might abate in time for the MotoGP session.
However with little sign of the downpour easing, the organisers have now announced that the session will not get underway yet, and that a further update on plans for qualifying will be issued at 2.30pm local time.
If qualifying cannot take place and the grid has to be formed on combined practice times, world champion Jorge Lorenzo will take pole position for Yamaha, followed by Ducati's Nicky Hayden, with Valentino Rossi completing the front row on the second Yamaha.
