Chris Vermeulen has confirmed that he will stay at Suzuki for another two years after this season.
The deal was signed on Sunday morning at Laguna Seca, before the Australian went on to finish second for the team behind championship leader Casey Stoner.
Vermeulen will be the team's lead rider from next season, and he will ride the 2008 bike for the first time on the Monday after the next round of the championship at Brno.
Vermeulen's teammate for this year, John Hopkins, has already been confirmed as a Kawasaki rider for next year.
Loris Capirossi has been liked to a move to Suzuki, although Ducati have announced that they will be talking with the Italian about the possibility of riding a third factory bike alongside Stoner and Marco Melandri next season.
