Yamaha has signed Moto2 title contender Pol Espargaro on a two-year deal, and will place him at Tech 3 to replace Ducati-bound Cal Crutchlow.
Espargaro has been linked to a Yamaha role since early this season, and was favourite to take the vacant Tech 3 seat once news of Crutchlow's Ducati move broke.
The 22-year-old Spaniard is currently chasing Scott Redding in the Moto2 title fight, having lost last year's crown to current Honda factory rider Marc Marquez.
Espargaro's older brother Aleix already races in MotoGP with the Aspar team and has been a class apart in the CRT division this season.
Tech 3 is expected to retain British rookie Bradley Smith on its second bike.
