Moto2: Lorenzo secures eighth pole
Championship leader Jorge Lorenzo took his eighth pole position in 12 races this year by finishing at the top of the timesheets ahead of tomorrow's 250cc San Marino GP
The Spanish Aprilia rider set a best time of 1:38.395, which was enough to beat Honda rival Andrea Dovizioso by 163 thousandths of a second in the sole qualifying session, after yesterday's afternoon running was cancelled due to a downpour at the Misano track.
Third fastest was Aprilia's Hector Barbera, 0.338 seconds behind Lorenzo.
The two KTMs were next, with Hiroshi Aoyama and Mika Kallio in fourth and fifth respectively.
Alvaro Bautista's and Thomas Luthi's Aprilias were sixth and seventh, ahead of Julian Simon's Honda and Marco Simoncelli's Gilera.
Alex de Angelis's Aprilia rounded up the top ten.
