Moto2: Lorenzo fined for gesture
Jorge Lorenzo has been fined US $5000 after he 'made a gesture prejudicial to the interest of the sport' in final qualifying for the 250cc Portuguese Grand Prix today
The Aprilia rider felt that Marco Simoncelli was to blame for a moment of confusion on track during which Lorenzo had to take avoiding action and went off the road.
Lorenzo was one of the few riders not to improve on their Friday times in today's session, and consequently lost pole to Andrea Dovizioso.
He remains on course for a second consecutive title in the category.
