Vernay delighted with Conquest test

Reigning Indy Lights champion Jean-Karl Vernay declared himself happy with his maiden run in an IndyCar, after testing one of Conquest Racing's Dallaras at Sebring on Tuesday

The Frenchman, who finished runner-up in the 2009 Macau Grand Prix before successfully switching to the US last season, completed a 'flawless' day's running according to the team and remains in contention to race one of it's two cars this season.

"It was a great day," said Vernay. "I really enjoyed my time behind the wheel. It's the most powerful car I have driven so it was definitely different to what I am use to but everything went very well.

"In the morning we focused on getting me familiarised with the car and then in the afternoon we were able to work on different things. Overall, I'm happy with the test. I enjoyed working with the team and driving such a powerful race car is a great feeling."

Team owner Eric Bachelart added: "JK did a good job at the test. He accustomed himself to the car fairly quickly and we were able to do everything we had planned, so it was a very productive test for us.

"It's not always easy to accomplish everything we want to in a one-day test but the crew was well prepared and it was nice to be back at a race track."
