Toyota sticks with California Speedway
Toyota is to keep its headline sponsorship of the premier race held at the California Speedway as the event follows the manufacturer away from CART into the IRL
The Japanese company has been an associate of the race since it first appeared on the CART calendar in 1997, and has penned a multi-year deal that will see the 'Toyota Indy 400' feature on the coming years' IRL schedule.
"Since day one of California Speedway, Toyota has been an integral part of our growth and development," said Bill Miller, the track's president. "Toyota brings an aggressive marketing and advertising campaign to our events and the Southern California Toyota Dealers have been tremendous partners in support of the events at California Speedway. We look forward to these elements continuing with our Indy Racing League event in 2003."
The 500 Presented by Toyota, which will be held on the oval on November 3 this year will not only be the final race of the 2002 CART season, but the last time that both the California Speedway and Toyota are involved in the series.
