Patrick expects to move forward

Danica Patrick believes that her move to Andretti Green Racing for 2007 will make her more competitive in the IndyCar Series

Patrick has raced for Rahal Letterman Racing for the past two years, but she believes that with her new team she can take that elusive maiden victory.

"I'm really looking for that win," she said "and I'm going to have less excuses now so there is more pressure on me to perform.

"This is a front-running team and I expect to be at the front myself. I had a lot of success with Rahal Letterman, but I wish the first win would have happened a long time ago."

Patrick also admitted that the added pressure will be in the back of her mind next year.

"I'm very excited, but it's nerve-racking because you don't ever want to have excuses," she said. "If you have excuses that means there is a reason you didn't win."

However, she is confident that the success will come, and she feels it is a matter of when, not if.

"When I get that first win, it will be a big relief," she said.
