Foyt switches to Toyota

A J Foyt Enterprises has confirmed that it will switch from Chevrolet to Toyota power for this year's IRL IndyCar series

The team, which will run reigning Infiniti Pro Series champion A J Foyt IV this season, becomes the fifth signed by Toyota for the Japanese manufacturer's debut season in the all-oval championship.

"I am happy that A J Foyt Enterprises entered into an agreement with Toyota this year," said team owner A J Foyt. "They have done a lot of testing on their engine with impressive results. Bottom line is that we're trying to put together the best programme possible for my grandson A J Foyt IV, and we're off to a good start."

Jim Aust, vice-president of motorsport for Toyota, said: "We're thrilled to be partnering with A J Foyt Enterprises, a name synonymous with IndyCar Series racing. A J's team is a proven winner in the IndyCar Series, and his talented grandson A J Foyt IV shows great promise for the future."
