Felix Rosenqvist gets Ganassi IndyCar test at Mid-Ohio

The Ganassi IndyCar team will give Formula E racer Felix Rosenqvist another test outing at Mid-Ohio this week, alongside championship leader Scott Dixon, Autosport has learned

Rosenqvist, the 2015 European Formula 3 champion tested for the team last July too (pictured below) and deeply impressed Chip Ganassi, team director Mike Hull, Dixon and his race engineer Chris Simmons.

At the time Rosenqvist was racing in America in a part-time Indy Lights campaign in which he scored three wins and three poles from 10 races.

This season he is dovetailing his Mahindra FE drive with racing for Team LeMans in Japan's Super Formula series.

After last year's test, Hull suggested Rosenqvist was ready for an IndyCar seat.

"I think he's ready to move up," said Hull at the time.

"If you look at his results in several other championships, he's been a success at every level.

"I'm going by what Chris Simmons told me, and he was very impressed.

"Felix ran over 90 laps, more than a race distance, and didn't put a wheel wrong.

"I think we found out that Felix is a terrifically talented guy, and the races and championships he's won globally were not by accident."

Ex-Formula 1 and Indycar driver Stefan Johansson, who manages both Dixon and Rosenqvist, could not be reached for comment, and the Ganassi team was also tight-lipped over the plan for Thursday's test.
