Dixon suffers fractured wrist
Ganassi Racing driver Scott Dixon suffered minor fractures in his wrist and hand after a crash with Tony Kanaan in the closing laps of the IRL IndyCar Series race at the Motegi oval in Japan last weekend
Andretti Green star Kanaan was also hurt, fracturing his arm in the incident that occurred as the two battled for the lead in the closing stages of the race.
Speaking about his injured wrist Dixon, who won the opening round of the championship, said: "It's a little sore, but so is my whole body. But it could have been a lot worse. I'm looking forward to getting back on the track when the month of May gets underway."
Dixon's injuries are unlikely to prevent him from running in the next round of the championship, the prestigious Indianapolis 500. There has been no further indication as to whether Kanaan will be able to return in time for the event. AGR already has one driver fighting to regain fitness in time for the event after Dario Franchitti crashed his motorcycle in Scotland last week.
