Derek Hill tests for Cheever
Derek Hill became the latest driver to sample a Red Bull Cheever Racing IRL car when he tested the team's Dallara/Toyota at Homestead last Friday

The 29-year-old son of 1961 world champion Phil Hill has a wealth of experience, from the Barber Dodge Pro Series to the International Ferrari Challenge to three years of FIA Formula 3000 competition. He is now at a crossroads in his career and is eyeing a future in the IRL IndyCar Series.
"This is a great opportunity to test with a well-established IndyCar team and to get my rookie test behind me," said Hill. "Getting into an IRL car is an important step towards my goal of competing in the IndyCar Series and doing the Indy 500."
Cheever Racing also took the opportunity to test Red Bull Junior driver and Formula Renault champion Scott Speed at Sebring (see separate story) and is believed to be targeting a three-car entry for 2005 after a disappointing '04 season in which it was saddled with the uncompetitive Chevrolet engine.
