Cheever to continue with three cars
Buddy Rice has been handed another chance to race in the Indy Racing League following Cheever Racing's decision to continue running three cars at this weekend's Kentucky round
The American finished second to his team-mate Tomas Scheckter at the Michigan Superspeedway nearly two weeks ago, which has prompted team boss and driver Eddie Cheever to keep his team as a trio.
"Tomas' victory and Buddy's second place at Michigan has revitalised the team," Cheever said. "Even though it puts a lot of pressure on the mechanics, I feel it would be wrong to go back to running two cars at Kentucky.
"I have every faith in the ability of our crew to execute as they did at the last race, giving the fans another Red Bull show."
The team heads to Kentucky buoyed by its first win of the season at Michigan.
"For a variety of reasons this team has always struggled at Kentucky," said Cheever. "This year we are attacking Kentucky with a vengeance. We are coming off a dominating one-two finish at Michigan, and we have a three-car arsenal to get the job done."
