Briscoe to Decide on Return Soon
Ryan Briscoe will decide next week whether he will get back in an Indy Racing League car later this year or not, as he continues to recover from the injuries he suffered in a crash at Chicago
The Australian continues to show progress during his rehabilitation at the Formula Medicine clinic in Italy and has this week been able to take part in more strenuous exercise, including swimming.
The doctors at the clinic, including head Dr. Ceccarelli - as well as Briscoe himself and his manager Max Angelelli - will sit down next week to work out just when they believe Briscoe will be fit enough to drive. It is hoped he can return to testing in November.
Carlo Lazzari, who is overseeing Briscoe's progress at Formula Medicine, said: "I've been working with Ryan for a few years now and he continues to surprise me. Two years ago he won the Euroseries F3 Championship and as a pastime was a triathlete of high performance.
"Today, just one month after his terrifying accident, he suffers and sweats in the gym eight hours a day as though it is the most natural thing to be doing. This is not for everyone."
