The decision on the next generation IndyCar chassis is set to be taken after the original June deadline set by the IRL, this week's AUTOSPORT reports.
Series chief Randy Bernard appointed a seven-man committee to advise on the future direction of IndyCar, but he is not expecting a final decision to be taken as early as next week, as was originally planned.
"I don't think we will have a completed decision, but we are making great progress," said Bernard. "We'll be close - no more than a month from now, we will be done."
Proposals from Delta Wing, Swift, Lola, BAT and Dallara are currently being considered.
