Rahal Letterman Lanigan will add a third car to its line-up for next month's Indianapolis 500.
The deal will make RLL the fourth team to add an Indy-only entry, following Conor Daly's appointment by AJ Foyt Racing, Carlos Munoz signing with Andretti, and Ryan Briscoe's expected deal with Ganassi.
No driver has yet been announced to partner Graham Rahal and James Jakes at the Brickyard.
Michel Jourdain Jr, who raced for the team at Indy last year, is among those to have been linked to the seat, although team representatives declined to comment when approach by AUTOSPORT at Barber.
Mike Conway will drive a third car for Rahal in Long Beach next week, although the Briton is not an option for Indy as he retired from oval racing just prior to last year's season finale at Fontana.
