Penske Acura squad leads Daytona 24 Hours practice
The Penske Acura squad topped both sessions of free practice ahead of qualifying later today for this weekend's Daytona 24 Hours
Juan Pablo Montoya was quickest aboard the #6 Acura in the first practice period for the IMSA SportsCar Championship opener, before Ricky Taylor topped the order in the sister #7 car during the second session.
Montoya posted a 1m49.917s in the 60-minute opening session held on a damp track, which put him just 0.039s up on Olivier Pla in the second-placed Mazda RT24-P.
Taylor ended up more than two tenths quicker than the next best Daytona Prototype international on a dry track in a 90-minute second session that finished in light drizzle.
