IndyCar's Ryan Hunter-Reay adds 2016 IMSA SportsCar programme

The Andretti Autosport IndyCar driver will share the team's Coyote-Chevrolet Corvette DP with the full-season pairing of Ryan Dalziel and Marc Goossens in next month's Daytona 24 Hours series opener and then the Sebring 12 Hours in March and Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta in October.

In addition to the three rounds of the North American Endurance Cup, Hunter-Reay will also contest the Long Beach IMSA event in April on the bill of the third IndyCar race of the season.

He will replace Dalziel, who is unavailable because he will be racing for the OAK-run Extreme Speed Motorsports LMP2 squad in the Silverstone World Endurance Championship round.

Hunter-Reay, 34, said: "I believe we have a strong shot at winning the big endurance races and am also looking forward to the double-duty challenge at Long Beach, which is one my favorite racetracks.

"I've worked, and shared success, with both Marc and Ryan in the past so we're going to be able to shortcut the process and get to work immediately on car set-up."

Hunter-Reay was a team-mate to Goossens in 2012 and then '14 at the Riley-run SRT Motorsports Dodge Viper squad, which Dalziel joined for 2014.

Previous Daytona outings for Hunter-Reay have yielded two overall podiums in 2010 and '13 with the NPN Racing Riley and Wayne Taylor Racing Dallara teams.

He also finished third in GT Le Mans in 2014 at the wheel of a Viper SRT GTR-S shared with Goossens.
