The 2013 World Endurance Championship title winner will drive an ORECA-Gibson 07 in the IMSA SportsCar Championship opener on January 28-29 for DragonSpeed, which was a race winner in this year's European Le Mans Series.

Duval's team-mates will be Nicolas Lapierre, with whom he won the 2011 Sebring 12 Hours for the ORECA Peugeot team, former Renault Formula 1 development driver Ben Hanley and the team's amateur pilot, Henrik Hedman.

Duval thanked DragonSpeed for the "terrific opportunity" to race at Daytona.

"I can't wait for my first Daytona 24 Hours," he said.

"It will be great to team up with Nicolas for the first time since we won Sebring together and to renew my long relationship with ORECA as well."

The future of Duval, who also races for Faraday Future Dragon Racing in the Formula E Championship, is unclear following Audi's withdrawal from the WEC, but he will test an Audi DTM car at Jerez at the end of this week.

Lapierre, who raced with DragonSpeed in the 2016 ELMS, is also racing at Daytona for the first time.

DragonSpeed, which is run by ex-Formula 3000 racer Elton Julian, is planning to expand to two cars for next season's ELMS and is also targeting an entry in the Le Mans 24 Hours.
