HSCC plans full calendar for its 2021 season
The Historic Sports Car Club is planning for a full season of racing in 2021 having lost the first half of its 2020 season to the COVID-19 pandemic
Although nearly all UK motor sport is on hold during the current lockdown, the HSCC's CEO Andy Dee-Crowne is optimistic that racing will be able to resume in the early spring.
When unveiling the calendar for the HSCC's 57th season of racing, Dee-Crowne said: "No one can currently predict where the UK will be with the COVID pandemic by the start of next season but we are very hopeful that we will be able to run a full programme of racing in 2021."
The planned schedule covers nine race meetings on nine different circuits and is headlined by weekends on the Silverstone and Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuits as well as the Oulton Park Gold Cup.
New for 2021 is an extended two-day mid-summer meeting at Donington Park and a return to Mallory Park, after an absence of nearly a decade, for a weekend event in September.
The HSCC's Brands Hatch Indy circuit date now moves to a Friday to join the Grand Prix circuit weekend, making a three-day event using both versions of the famous Kent track.
It is expected that the Friday schedule will include a mix of testing, qualifying and racing before the action switches to the stunning Grand Prix circuit for the rest of the weekend.
Dee-Crowne added: "We're very pleased to announce our 2021 dates. We've listened to our members and are delighted to offer a calendar that gives our customers a nicely-spaced set of dates at the most popular tracks."

22/23 May: Silverstone Grand Prix
5/6 June: Cadwell Park
26/27 June: Donington Park
9 July: Brands Hatch Indy
10/11 July: Brands Hatch Grand Prix
28-30 August: Oulton Park International
18/19 September: Mallory Park
16/17 October: Silverstone National
