Two drivers who completed the Formula Ford triple crown are among the leading names planning to attend the meeting on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit on the July 1-2 weekend.

Geoff Lees (1975, pictured above, centre) and Kenny Acheson ('78) both achieved the rare feat of winning all three UK championships.

The call for former Formula Ford champions to be guests at the event has drawn a strong response.

Among others planning to attend are Damien Magee, Richard Robarts, Gerrit van Kouwen and Ray Allen.

Dutch ace van Kouwen was a leading racer in the UK and also won the Benelux and EFDA titles in the early 1980s, while Magee and Robarts raced in the early seasons of Formula Ford before later progressing to Formula 1.

Allen, who is 73, was the winner of the inaugural Formula Ford race at Brands Hatch on Sunday 2 July, 1967.

As well as four races for more than 60 competitors in the HSCC Historic Formula Ford Championship, the weekend will feature a past champions' photo call, a grid walk-about and a Formula Ford-themed reception and buffet on Saturday evening.
