The newly-titled Thruxton Historic, postponed from early June, has a new mid-August date for a weekend of historic racing at the high-speed Hampshire track.
The original date of 6-7 June has been replaced by the new date of 15-16 August for races from the Motor Racing Legends organisation, but the decision regarding spectators at the event is yet to be confirmed.
"We are particularly pleased to confirm the Thruxton Historic date following the recent announcement that the Donington Historic Festival is not going to run this year. We plan to run all of our race series at this meeting," said MRL's Duncan Wiltshire.
The race line-up will include the MRL's roster of the Woodcote Trophy and Stirling Moss Trophy races, two 40-minute races for the Historic Touring Car Challenge/Tony Dron Trophy, a 60-minute race for Pre-1963 GT cars and a 40-minute race for Pre-War Sports Cars.
Guest races will include the GT and Sports Car Cup and grids from the Historic Racing Drivers' Club. The Under 2-litre Touring Cars and Sixties Touring Car Challenge will share two grids with the Historic Touring Car Challenge.
"Commercially, it is crucial for all grids that we have a big turn-out for this meeting. There appears to be a great deal of pent-up demand so hopefully everyone will come out in force," added Wiltshire.
For most of the race series involved, this will be the first event of their 2020 seasons.
