Tandy eyes Le Mans after GT deal
British Formula 3 race winner Nick Tandy is targeting Le Mans success after stepping into GT racing with a deal to contest the Porsche Supercup
The 25-year-old has signed with Konrad Motorsport, which took the title last season with Jeroen Bleekemolen.
Tandy hopes success in the Supercup will help him secure a manufacturer drive - it has been rumoured Porsche will soon return to Le Mans with a prototype.
"To get involved with Porsche would be superb," said the former McLaren AUTOSPORT BRDC Award finalist. "I'd love to do Le Mans and win."
Tandy did not rule out continuing his single-seater career. He is expected to test a Formula 2 car soon and the F2 calendar only clashes once with the Supercup season.
"I'm not saying that's it for single-seaters, but it's difficult to get the backing and the Porsche opportunity is something I'd like to do," said Tandy, who finished second on his Supercup debut in Abu Dhabi last season.
"The target has to be to win the championship. Being new to the series and the cars means it'll take time to get on top of everything, but there's a new car this year so hopefully everyone will have to start again."
