MotoGP rider Andrea Dovizioso to make car racing debut
Ducati MotoGP rider Andrea Dovizioso will make his car racing debut in a GT Lamborghini at Valencia next month
Dovizioso will race in finale of the one-make Blancpain Super Trofeo Europe series, and Lamborghini's World Final race alongside competitors from the sister North American and Asian championships.
The Italian tested the Huracan Super Trofeo he will race at Valencia on December 1-4 earlier this week.
Along with two-time MotoGP champion and Ducati tester Casey Stoner, Dovizioso also spent time in a road-going Huracan at Imola in May with Lamborghini's track academy.
Dovizioso has previously contested the Monza Rally, and the Bettega Memorial Rally run alongside the Bologna Motor Show in 2011, making the final in a knockout format but losing to Petter Solberg.
"I'm really happy to have this experience with Lamborghini," he said.
"This is the first race in one of their cars in such an important championship.
"I've just finished the MotoGP season in Valencia and honestly, I don't know what this track will be like with four wheels, anyway I can't wait.
"I will be racing for four days, therefore I'm sure I'll enjoy it very much.
"I have no idea who my opponents will be, but certainly the best ones of the American, Asian and European championships."
