Misano Blancpain GT: Rinaldi Ferrari wins, Bentley gains in points

The duo followed up on Saturday's qualifying race win aboard their Ferrari 458 Italia with another dominant display when full points were at stake.

Seefried lost the lead to Patrick Kujala's Grasser Lamborghini at the second corner, but got back in front with an around-the-outside manoeuvre through Turns 11 and 12 on the fourth lap.

The German was able to extend his lead to more than four seconds before the mid-race stops.

Siedler had a six-second lead over the HTP Bentley driven by Vincent Abril after the pitstop sequence was complete, an advantage he was able to extend to as much as 10s before backing off to complete a seven-second victory.

Seefried said: "He had a bit of a slide out of Turn 10 and had to shut the door into Turn 11.

"That was my chance, and I thought there wouldn't be many more."

Maximilian Buhk jumped from seventh on the grid to fourth on the opening lap in the HTP Motorsport Bentley Continental GT3 and then passed Atila Abreu in the best of the Team Brazil BMWs on lap four.

Buhk was then able to catch and pass Kujala on lap 11 before handing over to Abril.

The Grasser Lamborghini Huracan GT3 dropped to fourth during the pitstop sequence, but Mirko Bortolotti was quickly able to pass Valdeno Brito in the Team Brazil BMW Z4 on the way to a third-place finish 2.7s behind the Bentley.

Brito withstood fierce pressure from Craig Dolby in the AIM-run Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 over the final laps to hang onto fourth position.

Sean Walkinshaw had got the Nissan up from ninth on the grid to sixth before the pitstops.

The car lost one place in the pits before Dolby was able to pass Stephane Richelmi's WRT Audi R8 LMS ultra and then the second of the Brazilian BMWs driven by Sergio Jimenez to move up to fifth.

The result means that Buhk and Abril have closed the gap on championship leaders Laurens Vanthoor and Robin Frijns, who missed the race after a shunt in Saturday's qualifying event, to eight points.

Siedler also has a mathematical chance of taking the title at next weekend's series finale at Zandvoort.

He and Seefried are 17 points in arrears ahead of Zandvoort, a race Seefried will miss because he will be competing in the World Endurance Championship race at Fuji with the Proton Porsche team.
