Gollin's Zhuhai pole

In the absence of newly-crowned FIA GT champions Fabrizio Gollin and Luca Cappellari, the sister BMS Scuderia Italia Ferrari 550, driven by Matteo Bobbi and Gabriele Gardel, will start from pole position in the series finale at Zhuhai in China on Sunday

With Cappellari missing the race for business reasons, his partner Gollin opted to miss the race so the pair could share the drivers' crown. Their car, driven by Luca Drudi, Nicola Cadei and Frederic Dor, qualified 14th - some 1.7s off the 1m31.121s pole time.

The works Maseratis were second and third fastest - the Johnny Herbert/Fabrizio de Simone MC12 getting the better of the Andrea Bertolini/Mika Salo car. Enzo Calderari, Lilian Bryner and Christophe Bouchut were fourth fastest in the Care Racing Ferrari 550.

Walter Lechner Jr was the fastest of the Saleen drivers in fifth in the Konrad S7 he shares with Alex Margaritis and Franz Konrad, while Thomas Erdos and Mike Newton were sixth fastest in the RML-run S7.

Christian Pescatori took pole in the N-GT class for the sixth time this season. The Italian, who shares his GPC Ferrari 360 Modena with Jaime Melo, lapped in 1m36.315s. Right behind the Ferrari on the grid are the two N-GT championship contending Freisinger Porsche crews of Stephane Ortelli and Emmanuel Collard (points leaders) and Sascha Maassen and Lucas Luhr.
