FIA GT qualifying: Gollin on pole

The form book was turned on its head in superpole qualifying for round eight of the FIA GT championship, with the Chrysler Viper of Fabrizio Gollim claiming the coveted top spot.

The Italian, who's best result this season was a third at Brno, was in sensational form and ended up with an advantage of more than a second over the Viper of Dutchman Mike Hezemans.

Championship leaders Christophe Bouchut and David Terrien failed to make the top six superpole shoot out, struggling with a combination of a 100kg weight penalty and electrical problems in Friday practice. They will line up ninth for Sunday's race.

NGT pole went to the Porsche of Antonio Garcia, ahead of the Ferrari 360 of Italian Christian Pescatori.
