Dixon leads overnight

Collard and team-mates Wayne Taylor and Max Angelelli led the majority of the first half of the race before Dixon moved the third Ganassi entry ahead in the early hours of the morning.

Andy Wallace's Howard-Boss car is also on the lead lap 16 hours into what has been an extremely close and clean race. The gaps between the top three cars are ebbing and flowing constantly in traffic, so all remain in contention as the race continues under the lights in Florida.

The polesitting Ganassi car of Scott Pruett, Luis Diaz and Ryan Briscoe dropped out of contention in the early stages after an array of mechanical problems. Although 24 laps off the lead, the car is back on the pace and has recently made it back into the overall top ten.

The Farnbacher Racing Porsche has controlled the GT class throughout and currently holds a two-lap lead over the TPC Racing entry.
