Aston Martin wants to enter works car in Blancpain series
Aston Martin Racing is aiming to enter a factory car with an all-professional driver line-up in the Blancpain Endurance Series this season
AMR has ambitions to expand its presence in the series after making a winning one-off appearance at Silverstone last year with one of its V12 Vantage V12s.
It is already committed to returning to the pro-am class of the five-round series with MP-AMR, with which it has also announced a tie-up for the British GT Championship, and Beechdean-AMR, which is expected to contest selected races around an attack on the blue-riband Spa 24 Hours.
AMR team principal John Gaw said: "Blancpain is important for us and we are looking for a budget to do the full series.
"We definitely want to do it with an all-pro car, but it is not done yet."
Gaw explained that there were no plans to enter the Blancpain Sprint Series, but added that he hoped Aston would have an increased presence at Spa in July.
He promised a bigger programme than in 2013 during which AMR entered five Vantage GTEs in the World Endurance Championship and also contested the Nurburgring 24 Hours and the Silverstone Blancpain round.
AMR is running a Vantage GTE in this weekend's Daytona 24 Hours and has an entry for all the United SportsCar Championship enduros.
He said a decision would be made on its participation in those USC races after the 24 Hours.
The factory team also plans to return to the Nurburgring 24 Hours in 2014.
