Sanchez Lopez to GP3 with Addax

Former Italian Formula 3 front runner Pablo Sanchez Lopez will race for Barwa Addax in the inaugural season of GP3 this year

The Telmex-backed Mexican won four races and finished third in the Italian F3 championship last season, which led to an appearance for Ferrari in last year's rookie F1 test.

Meanwhile, Norwegian racer Pal Varhaug will also move into GP3 this season with Jenzer Motorsport.

Varhaug, who finished fifth in Formula Master in 2009, has spent his entire career with the Swiss squad since making his car racing debut in Formula Renault in 2007.

"We signed the deal in Italy last week," said Varhaug. "I'm very satisfied with the contract and can't wait to get the season started.

"I have the budget to race, but I'm still looking for a bigger budget to be better prepared for the season.

"I still have some work to do to find the funding I feel I need to be able to fight for race wins."

Varhaug will be joined at Jenzer by Swiss racer and fellow Formula Master graduate Simon Trummer.
