Ferrari protege Antonio Fuoco joins Carlin for 2015 GP3 Series move
Ferrari Driver Academy protege Antonio Fuoco will race in the GP3 Series this season
The 18-year-old from Calabria in southern Italy has joined Carlin, one of three teams he tested with in last November's post-season Abu Dhabi test.
Fuoco makes the move after winning the 2013 Formula Renault ALPS title in his rookie season of car racing, and then taking two race wins last year in the Formula 3 European Championship.
He is the first 2015 GP3 driver confirmed by Carlin, which carried Alex Lynn to last year's title.
"I'm so happy about this new venture," said Fuoco.
"I tested the car last November in Abu Dhabi and I immediately found the pace I need to be on top of the grid - being part of such a successful team such as Carlin gives me the necessary tool to achieve important results."
Team chief Trevor Carlin, who has never previously had a Ferrari junior in his race team, said: "Antonio did a great job in testing with us in Abu Dhabi and we're very grateful to the Ferrari Driver Academy for trusting us with this next stage in Antonio's career.
"Our only aim is to win our second consecutive team and drivers' titles in GP3 and with Antonio we believe we already have one driver who is capable of that."
