World Touring Car champion Rob Huff will make his Bathurst debut next month in the 12-hour race at the legendary circuit

WTCC champion Rob Huff to make Bathurst 12 Hours debut

The 33-year-old Briton won last year's WTCC crown for Chevrolet, but is currently without a full-time drive for the coming season.

He has signed for Peter Conroy Motorsport to drive an Audi R8 LMS ultra with the car's owner and James Winslow, the reigning Australian Formula 3 champion.

In the wake of Chevrolet's announcement last July that it was withdrawing from the WTCC as a factory entrant Huff revealed to AUTOSPORT that a V8 Supercar drive is something that appealed to him.

Race organisers reported that Huff is using the 12-hour race in a bid to learn the circuit ahead of any possible V8 deal in the future.

Other big names taking part in the race include V8 Supercar frontrunner Craig Lowndes and Superstars champion Johan Kristoffersson in Audis, Shane van Gisbergen in a Porsche, Mika Salo in a Ferrari and five-time DTM champion Bernd Schneider in a Mercedes.
