Will Bratt hits the front in Nurburgring Formula 2 practice two
Will Bratt was comfortably fastest in Formula 2's second and final practice session at the Nurburgring
A damp track yielded increasing grip and performance as the session wore on, but with rain forecast for the final minutes many elected to go out early and set their best times within the first half an hour.
Bratt, much as he did at Spa-Francorchamps last weekend, timed his run to perfection. The forecast rain never arrived and the Briton had the best of track conditions, setting his best time on his final tour to end finish 0.38 seconds clear of the rest of the field.
Germany's Thiemo Storz was another who went out late and benefited from improved track conditions, ending the session second fastest on his home circuit.
Jordan King continued his strong introduction to F2 by topping the timesheets with 10 minutes of the session remaining. He was demoted by Bratt and Storz, but nevertheless finished an impressive third fastest.
Mirko Bortolotti and Christopher Zanella, locked in a battle for the championship lead, finished fourth and fifth fastest respectively, ahead of Spaniard Ramon Pineiro.
Mihai Marinescu edged out Johannes Theobald - one of four Germans competing at the Nurburgring this weekend - for seventh, with jack Clarke and Miki Monras rounding out the top 10.
