Westbrook and Milner join Corvette

Richard Westbrook and Tommy Milner will join Corvette's GT line-up for the 2011 season

Former BMW driver Milner will become a full-time part of the Corvette programme, and has been paired with Olivier Beretta in the #3 car for the American Le Mans Series.

Beretta's long-time co-driver Oliver Gavin is moving across to the sister #4 car to fill the vacancy alongside Jan Magnussen that was created by Johnny O'Connell's departure.

Ex-Porsche man Westbrook is only joining Corvette for the longer-distance races, where he will be third driver in the #4 alongside Magnussen and Gavin. Antonio Garcia is staying on as the additional driver in the #3 entry.

Team boss Doug Fehan was delighted to add Milner and Westbrook to Corvette.

"We look at our competition continuously and intensely, and it became very clear that Tommy Milner and Richard Westbrook have the qualities we value at Corvette Racing," he said.

"They are quick, intelligent, team-oriented, and disciplined in their approach. They will connect with Corvette fans and represent Chevrolet as a global brand.

"We are very excited to have these two talented young drivers join America's most successful production sportscar team, and we look forward to long and rewarding relationships with both of them."

Westbrook won two Porsche Supercup titles and the 2009 FIA GT2 crown during his Porsche stint.

"I've raced against the Corvette enough times to know it's better to be driving one than racing against one," he said. "I'm absolutely delighted to be joining the Corvette Racing programme for 2011.

"The Corvette C6.R is an amazing piece of machinery, very well engineered, and it's just an honour to drive one.

"Everyone on the team is hungry for success and expectations are high, so we have to deliver."
