Weekend review and results round-up
Peugeot got a little consolation for its Le Mans 24 Hours defeat by turning the tables on Audi when the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup resumed at Imola this weekend - the French cars proving unstoppable all day at the former San Marino Grand Prix venue
MotoGP was in Italy too, and also saw a change in the balance of power, as Jorge Lorenzo struck back against Honda, coming from behind to beat Casey Stoner to Mugello victory and keep the title battle firmly alive.
In the tin-top world, NASCAR was at its most destructive at Daytona, but David Ragan kept his car in one piece and emerged victorious for the first time.
Rain was the big challenge for the DTM field at the Norisring, where Bruno Spengler was able to halt his Mercedes team-mate Jamie Green's run of wins at the famous track.
The World Touring Car field had a street circuit to contend with too in Porto. After a quiet race one that saw Alain Menu lead yet more Chevrolet domination, race two was a reminder that single-team dominance can still be pretty entertaining, as Rob Huff hunted down and pounced on Chevy stablemate Yvan Muller to take a thrilling win.
