Weber Set to Run German Team
Michael and Ralf Schumacher's manager Willi Weber is set to take control of Germany's A1 GP team, Autosport-Atlas can reveal
Weber has not yet signed the contract to run his country's team in the World Cup of Motorsport, but a formal announcement could be made as early as tomorrow.
The Schumacher brothers are not involved and, according to Weber, are not aware of his interest in the project.
Weber told Autosport-Atlas: "Michael and Ralf don't even know that I am doing this. I haven't told them yet, so maybe they will read it now!"
"We are shortly before signing the contract. There are some points still to clarify including money, but if the money is not a problem then I will do it.
"It is a good chance for a German driver and it runs when nothing is happening. No other series is running in Autumn and Winter time. I think it has a chance, but I am not married to it. If it is not working, I will leave."
A1 GP boss Sheikh Maktoum has promised that the final list of 25 countries will be announced by June 15.
