Warwick not content with third
Derek Warwick believes he could have gone quicker in this afternoon's qualifying session for the GP Masters of Qatar
Warwick improved on his performance from the inaugural Kyalami round, where he qualified sixth, and will start tomorrow's race in third. However, he believes that the timing of his runs hampered him this afternoon.
"I'm never happy. Just ask my wife," Warwick quipped. "Nigel [Mansell] did a fantastic job as usual, but there was less grip out there this afternoon. I had a tendency to overdrive the car.
"I waited a little while in the pits and thought the track might get quicker at the end and it would rubber in a bit, but the track didn't really come to us and I actually got slower at the end of the session.
"To be honest, I just overdrove the tyres. I left a couple of tenths out there on the circuit. It is so easy to make a mistake here."
Warwick, however, does have his race strategy for tomorrow already prepared.
"Obviously, Nigel will have a good start so I can follow him through and then pip him at the end of the race," Warwick added.
