Voting opens for 2020 International Racing Car and Rally Car Autosport Awards
Voting has now opened for Autosport's International Racing Car and Rally Car of the Year Awards
Autosport Awards
The Autosport Awards are a series of awards presented by motor racing magazine Autosport to drivers that have achieved significant milestones each season. Some of the presentations are selected by the general public via a reader's poll.
The 2020 edition of the Autosport Awards will be online, with increased digital coverage, and will continue the tradition of celebrating the best of the motorsport season.
Autosport.com subscribers and magazine readers will be able to vote for the nominee they think performed best in each category during the season. The winners will then be announced in December, again across multiple digital platforms, as well as Autosport magazine, which is celebrating its 70th birthday in 2020.
The Racing Car and Rally Car nominees are the first to be announced. Previous winners of the Racing Car Award include the Porsche 956, McLaren MP4/4 and Ferrari F2004. Mercedes Formula 1 cars have won the Award on the last six occasions.
The Rally Car Award has been won by the Audi Quattro, Lancia Delta HF Integrale and Subaru Impreza. Last year's victor was the Toyota Yaris WRC.

International Racing Car nominees
Audi RS5 DTM
In the final year of the DTM's Class 1, Audi dominated. Rival BMW managed just two wins from 18 races as Abt and Rosberg RS5s set the pace. Five wins from the last six races brought Rene Rast his third crown, over early pacesetter Nico Muller.
DS E-Tense FE20
Such was the speed of the black-and-gold cars, even with brake-related qualifying issues, DS Techeetah brushed the opposition aside. Four wins from 11 races meant the team wrapped up a second successive constructors' title, doing so with a massive 77-point advantage over Nissan e.dams.
Mercedes F1 W11
Many figures in the Formula 1 paddock, both within Mercedes and rival squads, believe the W11 could be the team's best car yet. It started the season with a pace advantage not seen since the 1990s and clinched Mercedes' record-breaking seventh consecutive F1 constructors' title with four rounds to spare.
Toyota TS050 HYBRID
It's not exactly a new design, but the TS050 secured its Le Mans 24 Hours hat-trick in 2020. Not only that, but it also remained the car to beat in the World Endurance Championship despite success penalties designed to help the rival privateer teams get on terms.
Rally Car nominees
Ford Fiesta WRC
It was always going to be tough for the M-Sport squad to take on the manufacturer outfits of Hyundai and Toyota, but the Fiesta has remained a solid performer. Highlight of the season was probably Teemu Suninen's third place at Rally Mexico in March.
Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC
The i20 has won rallies with three different drivers - Thierry Neuville, Ott Tanak and Dani Sordo - in 2020, helping Hyundai to a narrow lead in the manufacturers' table with one round still to go. Will it be enough to retain its crown?
Mini JCW Buggy X-Raid
Rally raids are among the most gruelling motorsport events and the Mini Buggy has been a standout over the past couple of seasons. Carlos Sainz and Stephane Peterhansel took a Mini 1-3 on the Dakar Rally in January, split only by experienced Nasser Al-Attiyah's Toyota.
Toyota Yaris WRC
Like Hyundai, Toyota has won half of the season's rallies so far. The Yaris, which won this award last year, perhaps hasn't had the pace advantage it enjoyed in 2019 but, if Rally Monza goes Toyota's way, it could end up as a double title winner.
