Tracy Fastest at Sebring
Tracy is the leading active racer, and as such was expected to run well against a field mostly comprising new and aspiring racers. Of these, Timo Glock was the fastest runner, bringing his Rocketsports car home less than two tenths behind Tracy
"We have a good car for this testing session," Glock told reporters after the session. "That is a result of our test in Fontana, where we really focused on the setup. We went out on two sets of tires today, and had some problems with the rear brake pads, but I am still getting used to the car as well.
"The second set of tyres posed as a problem for the car, as I kept battling in Turn One. We went back to the original set of tires and posted our quickest time of the day."
Veteran Formula One driver Jos Verstappen ran in a Champ Car for the first time, and noted: "There is a lot to get used to with these cars compared to a Formula One car, especially for me today getting a feel of running on cold tyres and brakes. The HVM team works very well together, and they are very easy to work with. I am looking forward to seeing what will happen."
Other notable drivers on display were former Jaguar third driver Bjorn Wirdheim and former Toyota Atlantic runner Ronnie Bremer. The test continues on Thursday.
