The inside line on the Monaco GP

Michael Schumacher is going for win number six on the streets of the Principality and consequently most of the odds on the five times champion are short. For the win, you're only going to get 8-11 on Schuey. But, there are some cracking special forecast bets. The Michael/Kimi Raikkonen bet that I have been promoting for much of the season and which has come up trumps a couple of times, is on offer at 11-2 for the race. It's worth a look again, but so are a couple of others.

The Renaults, for instance, are expected to go well in Monaco and another Michael/Fernando Alonso 1-2 is not beyond the bounds of possibility. That bet is available at 10-1, as is a 1-2 finishing order featuring Michael and last year's pole man Juan Pablo Montoya.

Williams have had a tough time this season with the new FW25, but Monte Carlo is more about driver input. That being the case, Montoya at 16-1 to repeat his pole - especially if Michelin has gone softer than Bridgestone again - is worth a very close look.

For an outright win, the Renaults are listed at 9-1 (Alonso) and 25-1 (Trulli). The Italian is something of a Monaco ace and these odds represent seriously good value, especially with a fifth of the odds paid for an each-way bet.

For a podium finish, Trulli is offered separately at 7-2 and I very much like the look of Mark Webber, on his favourite circuit, at 16-1 for a top three finish. Don't forget Olivier Panis too. The Frenchman has had some rotten luck in the Toyota so far but remembering back to last year, both Toyota drivers qualified in the top 10. Given the attrition rate on top, it is not inconceivable that Panis, who won here in 1996 for Ligier, could make it onto the podium at 20-1.
