Tappy joins Formula Master for Pau
Duncan Tappy has joined Team JVA for the opening round of this season's International Formula Master championship at Pau this weekend
The Briton has raced in Formula Renault 3.5, Indy Lights, Superleague and the Le Mans Series since winning the Formula Renault UK title in 2007 and is hoping to reach a deal with JVA to contest the full IFM season.
"At the moment this is just for this round, but we'll sit down afterwards and talk about the possibility of more races," Tappy told AUTOSPORT.
"I did a one-off Indy Lights race at the start of the season, which was a great experience, but of course I'd rather firm up a full season of racing than having to learn a new car every time.
"The Master car feels good, it's quicker than an F3 car so there's plenty of power and downforce. It's just a matter of getting up to speed with it as quickly as possible."
Tappy will be joined at JVA by another new addition to the IFM grid this weekend, fellow Britain Jonathan Kennard.
Other last minute deals ahead of Pau include New Zealand's Earl Bamber, former GP2 racer Marcello Puglisi and F3 Euro Series race winner Harald Schlegelmilch.
