Stevens disqualified for Dyson clash
The duo were disputing second in the first race when Dyson tried to pass the Team Leos Motorsport driver around the outside at the Club chicane. The two touched, with Dyson pitched into the barriers.
Stevens was disqualified following a protest by Dyson. Team Leos appealed to the stewards, who upheld the decision. Stevens has now appealed to the MSA.
Stevens will head into the season finale seven points down on rival Jon Barnes when dropped scores are considered. However, if his appeal succeeds he will be ensured the title.
Dyson said: "It was a professional foul. I gave him plenty of room and he still hit me. The video clearly shows him changing direction. It's ruined my championship hopes."
Stevens said: "He tried to go around the outside of me in the wet, which isn't on. I locked up and just touched him. It was a racing incident. We've appealed to the MSA so it's not over yet. I'll be mad if I don't get the points I deserve."
